Local History Day with the Dodleston History Group

What a wonderful day we have enjoyed with Dodleston's Local History group!

Children listened to Dr Kevin Coutes, a local archaeologist, and were amazed at the finds and evidence he showed us from the local Poulton Dig.

Each class were taken on a tour of the village to see the history right on our doorstep, they learnt about the history of our School and looked at historical evidence such as the old school bell, the school record's and the punishment book. Children learnt about the Girl's home on Church Road and the history and significance of the building.

Classes 3 and 4, looked at the history of the post office, church and even saw the remains of the Motte and Bailey castle behind St Mary's Church.

Thanks Bernard and Marion for such an informative and fun day!
